Follow the link above and take a look. For this exhibition, every drawing is $50.00 because it was difficult for me to price this eclectic series. They are unframed and of extremely varied in size…. all of them are on paper and unframed. The word face is closely related to ‘facet’ because each face has many sides. It is this variety of expression that draws me into this particular creative process. Face in French is ‘visage’. The Latin root of visage is ‘visus’ which means sight. The face carries so much subtly rich emotion and also signals attitudes, gender, age and much more. It allows us to see more deeply into a person. To understand the unspoken. These drawings are rarely of a specific person... they are more like an amalgam of many people. While I do this artwork, it feels more like I’m exploring a person rather than creating them. I enjoy recognizing the feelings and personality each face or figure carries. It is a process of trying to capture the moment when thoughts and feeling shift.
